Privacy Policy
LaughTrak ("the App") is developed and operated by PixelPath Studios, LLC ("we," "us," or "our"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. We are committed to protecting your privacy.
1. Information We Collect
LaughTrak is designed to collect as little personal information as possible. Here is what the App accesses:
- Comedians you follow — stored locally on your device via UserDefaults and optionally synced to your iCloud private database. This data is yours and is never sent to our servers.
- Location — used only when you open the Map tab or request nearby shows. Location data is used in-session to find comedy clubs and events near you; it is not stored or transmitted to us.
- Notification preferences — stored locally on your device. We have no access to these settings.
2. Data We Do Not Collect
We do not collect, store, or have access to:
- Your name, email address, or any account credentials
- Your location history
- Device identifiers for advertising purposes
- Any analytics or behavioral tracking data
LaughTrak does not require you to create an account.
3. Third-Party Services
The App connects to third-party APIs to provide its features. These services have their own privacy practices:
- Jester Comedy API — provides comedian data, specials, and albums. Requests include search terms you enter but no personal identifiers.
- Ticketmaster API — used to find comedy events near you. Your general location (coordinates) is sent to Ticketmaster solely to return nearby events. See Ticketmaster's Privacy Policy.
- YouTube API — used to surface comedy videos. See Google's Privacy Policy.
- TMDB (The Movie Database) — used for comedy special metadata. See TMDB's Privacy Policy.
- Apple CloudKit — your list of followed comedians may be synced to your personal iCloud account. Apple's privacy policy governs iCloud data. We have no access to your CloudKit private database. See Apple's Privacy Policy.
4. In-App Purchases (Tip Jar)
LaughTrak offers optional in-app tips ("Tip Jar") processed entirely through Apple's App Store. We do not receive or store any payment information. All transactions are handled by Apple. See Apple's Privacy Policy for details.
5. Notifications
If you grant notification permission, LaughTrak schedules local notifications on your device. These notifications are generated entirely on-device — we do not operate a push notification server and do not transmit any data to send them.
6. Children's Privacy
LaughTrak is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe your child has provided personal information through the App, please contact us and we will take steps to delete it.
7. Data Security
Because LaughTrak stores your data locally on your device and within your personal iCloud account, the security of that data is governed by your device's security settings and your iCloud account. We do not operate servers that store your personal data.
8. Your Rights
You can delete all data the App has stored by using the "Reset All Settings" or "Unfollow All" options in the Settings tab, or by deleting the App from your device. To erase any iCloud-synced data, use the "Erase iCloud Data" option in Settings before deleting the App.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post any changes on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
